Born October 21, 1919 in Hartsburg, Missouri to Clell C. and Anna May (nee Sharp) Nowell, ?the second of two daughters; her sister, Annelle Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada, died in 1977. ?A graduate of Monroe (Michigan) High School (1937) and Stephens College, Columbus, Missouri (1939), she later earned her LPN license at age 59 in Ft. Meyers, Florida. ???
A resident of Florida for 14 years (the last six years in Deerfield Beach), she moved to Wooster in 1988 to be near four of her five children. ?An ardent gardener and collector of antique glass and china, she was devoted to her pets Murphy, Reggie and Charlie and enjoyed traveling in Europe and the Middle East. ?Playing bridge with her Wooster friends was one of her favorite pastimes.
She was a member of the Unity Church of Truth in Massillon, Ohio, the Wayne County Early American Glass Club, the Garden Party Garden Club, the Morning Circle of the First Presbyterian Church and was active in various charitable organizations.
Surviving are children Linn Maurine Parise of Madison, Ohio; Gail May Ross of Stamford, Connecticut, Rhonda Nowell Stefano of Holmesville, Ohio, William Leonard Scholz of Dalton, Ohio and Pauline Ann Kozma of Seville, Ohio. ?Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two nephews, two nieces and their families reside in Nevada, California and Idaho.
