Melvin was born December 10, 1946 in Ashland, to Oscar Edward and Doris Delee (Spring) Shoemaker.
He was employed at National Latex. ?Melvin was a painter and managed a restaurant. ?He was also a social member of Amvets. ?Melvin enjoyed cooking and fishing.
He will be deeply missed by his mother Doris, children Michael Coxwell and Dawn Coxwell of South Carolina, and Christopher Shoemaker of Ashland, brother Michael (Barbara) Shoemaker of Ashland, and sister Debbie Shoemaker of Tennessee.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roberts Funeral Home - ?Ashland chapel.
