Monnie C. Parker, 86, of Apple Creek, went home to the Lord, March 11, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 PM at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.Friends may call one hour prior.Burial will be at Apple Creek Cemetery.
Monnie was born November 14, 1924, in Flenerville, Kentucky, to the late Bon and Rida (Snudgrass) Flener.She married Albert C. Parker Sr. on November 3, 1945, in Malvern, Ohio. He died in 1990.
Monnie was a graduate of Morgantown High School. She worked for Frito Lay Inc. and retired from there in 1989.She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Morgantown, KY.Monnie was also an Auxillary member of the Apple Creek Legion. She enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Monnie will be deeply missed by her children, Jacqueline (Ronald) Burns of Wooster, Sandra Sue Burnette of Wooster, Peggy (Jerry Burns) of Wooster, Albert C. Parker (Sonny) Chris of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Tammy Plotner-Yeagley, Amy Shelt, Beth Morrison (Sam Rock), Jason Burns, Lisa Burns, Danny (Jennifer) Parker, Tina (Mike) Carney; step-grandchildren April (Pat) Huffman, Jeremy Burns, Gayle (Vince) Hummel, Tom Burnettte, Sandy Glenn; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Monnie is preceded in death by sister Myrta B. Flener, brother Clifton C. Flener great grandson Anthony Plotner and special son in law Thomas Burnette.
