Naomi Giegel

Naomi M. Giegel, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2008.



Born December 7, 1916, in Cairo, West Virginia, she was raised in Akron. She graduated from East High School and the University of Akron with a B.S. in Business Administration. For the past 52 years, Naomi resided in Wadsworth, Ohio.



She was an officer or active member for many years of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, Akron Women?s City Club, Wadsworth Women?s Club, Wadsworth Investors? Club, Parmi Nous, and Sorosis. She and her husband were founding members of Rawiga Country Club. A longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wadsworth, Naomi belonged to Ruth Circle. Her other interests included bridge, golf, gardening, reading, and travel.



Preceded in death by parents, Clarence A. and Mary E. Gregg; husband, Charles J. Giegel; son, Charles J. Giegel, Jr.; special sister-in-law, Lois F. Hartle; and brother, Hubert M. Gregg, she is lovingly survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gregg F. and Stephanie J. Giegel and grandson, Gregg F. Giegel, Jr. of Wadsworth; other grandchildren, Michael A. (Lisa) Giegel of Batavia, Ohio; Melissa G. (Dan) Minahan of Tustin, California; Stephanie B. (Michael) Skordeles of Germantown, Tennessee; and Kelsey R. and Katherine E. Giegel of North Canton, Ohio; great grandchildren, Mitchell, Nathan, and William Giegel; Sean, Sarah, and Joseph Minahan; and Sophia, Julia, and Grace Skordeles; along with nephews, Robert J. Hartle, Jr., and David Hartle and nieces, Diane Gregg and Karen Runk; and brother-in-law, Robert J. Hartle, Sr.



The family would like to thank Danielle Weaver, Naomi?s other special care givers, including the staff of Wadsworth Pointe, and her loyal friend, Alice Dolph and members of Ruth Circle who all cared for and visited her during the last five years.



A private graveside service and interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
