Nicholas A. "Nic" Berlyak, 76, of Ashland, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Med Central Hospital in Mansfield. ?Services will be Saturday at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to People to People Ministries, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Nic was born March 27, 1931 in Wadsworth to Joseph W. and Barbara E. {Flock} Berlyak. ?He served in the US Army in Germany in the 1950's. ?Nic married Barbara Lamont on November 24, 1956. She survives. ?
Nic worked for Crown Manufacturing where he was the manager for R & D Department, and did display work for Polsky's and O'Neils in the 1960's. ?He attended the Catholic Church. ?He enjoyed doing artwork.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Heidi (Jerry) Reina of San Diego, CA, William (Karen) Berlyak of Moncks Corner, SC, Edward Berlyak of Wooster, Susan (Rick) Stimpert of Ashland; grandchildren Megan Sneeringer, Rachel, Joseph, and Nicholas Stimpert, and Holly Reina; step-grandchildren Bernie and Bill McClain, and Joshua Todd; sister Katherine Dostie of Cuyahoga Falls, numerous nieces and nephews.
Nic was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anastasia Mitchen and Rose Marie Stotler.
