Norval "Toad" R. Dawson, 74, of Fredericksburg died Friday, September 8, 2006 at his home. ?Services will be Monday at 2:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with Pastor Gerald Compton officiating. ?Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where military rites will be observed. ?Friends may call Sunday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home.

He was born April 22, 1932 in Clay, West Virginia to Charlie and Goldie (Beckett) Dawson. ?He married Marjorie Duncan on November 23, 1979. ?She survives.
He drove semi and worked in construction. ?He was an avid horseshoe player and enjoyed still shooting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Rusty (Connie) Dawson of Killbuck, Rick (Linda) Fortune of Big Prairie, Deb (Allen) Hoxworth of Millersburg, Karen Wharton of Apple Creek, and Connie (Rob) Aduddell of Wooster, 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, brothers Harley (Bev) Dawson and Dennis (Jeanette) Dawson both of Wooster, George (Barbara) Dawson of Millersburg, Cecil (Carol) Dawson of Wooster, Lloyd (Diane) Dawson of Big Prairie and sisters Elsie Fishburn of Shreve, Linda (Dennis) Justice and Betty (Carrie) Summers both of Millersburg, Bonnie (Jerry) Kurtzen of Dalton and Barbara (John) Miller of Wooster.
In addition to his parents, daughters Bonnie Fortune, Deb Fortune and brothers Lyman, Bill and Richard Dawson died previously.
