Otho Boone

Otho Johnson Boone, of Wadsworth, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Akron City Hospital. He was born May 7, 1922 in Tennessee to Wid and Sarah (Johnson) Boone. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Italy.





Otho married Violet O. Anderson on August 26, 1946 and she passed February 28, 2005. He was an employee of Henry Furnace, retiring after 35 years and was a member of the Baptist church. Otho was a member and a judge for the American and North Ease Iris Society, the Northeast Ohio Daffodil Society, Akron Area Iris Society and was a member of Willie Marcum #72, DAV unit in Medina and the American Legion Post 1089.





He is survived by children Ronald M. and Cindy Boone of Oshkosh, WI.,Anita K. and Ray Kalamets of Norton, Marsha J. Long of Wadsworth and Karla D. and Matt Kollert of Holmesville, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and special friend and brother in law, Gene T. Anderson. Otho was preceded by ten brothers and sisters.





Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel with Rev., Dr. Chuck Naylor officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to DAV or Doylestown United Methodist Church. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com .
