Pearl Maxine Bird, 91, of Mount Vernon, former Ashland resident, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.
Born November 27. 1919, in New Galilee, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Robert and Ida (Varsey) Andrews.
Pearl lived in Ashland until moving to Mount Vernon in 2003.She was a homemaker and a member of the Ashland Church of the Nazarene.
She married Donal L. Bird on October 18, 1946, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Pearl will be deeply missed by her daughters, Peggy (James) Bostic of Fredericktown and Nikki and Charles Sgandurra of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Bostic, Amanda (Terry) Shade, Kristin and Katelyn Krischak; two step-grandchildren, Nick and Hannah Sgandurra; two great grand children and two sisters, Harriet Ilene Young, and Mary Elizabeth Garman.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bonnivere Evelyn Young.
Services will be 12 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, 1058 US Rte 250 N. with the Rev. Darrell Leibolt officiating.Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
