Preston A. “Dutch” May, 92, of Wooster died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the
Wayne County Care Center in Wooster.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home –
Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. A memorial service will be Thursday at 2pm at the Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster where military rites will be held.

Dutch was born December 5, 1915 in Hagerstown, MD to Daniel and Fannie (Ebersole) May. He married Verda Morris on October 6, 1940. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He worked for Akron Brass as a machinist for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Following his retirement, he enjoyed sales for Newton Manufacturing.
He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, The Gideons International and a life member of the VFW Post 1081, Wooster.
In addition to his wife, Dutch will be deeply missed by children Irene May Starkey (Jerry) Wolfe of Sarasota, FL, Carl (Sharon) May of Wadsworth, Mary May (Stanley) Haskins of Shreve; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Dutch was preceded in death by a son-in-law Glenn Starkey Jr. and a grandson Shane Starkey.
