Ralph Rohrer

Ralph R. Rohrer, 100, of Wooster, passed away from surgical complications on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Ralph was born November 30, 1909 in Goshen, Indiana to Benjamin N. and Rosa S. (Gilliam) Rohrer and then lived on a farm in Wadsworth with his aunt and uncle, Bina and Frank Rohrer.
Ralph married Inez L. Goodman on June 14, 1935 and was happily married for 61 years.Ralph graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1931; attended the University of Akron, Kent State University, the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo. He taught math and science in Wadsworth and Strongsville and was a vocational director in Wadsworth, Akron, Sylvania and Wooster City Schools. He worked as an engineer with many different companies throughout Ohio including Firestone and Babcock and Wilcox Company. After retirement, Ralph and Inez resided in Florida during the winter months and Ohio in spring and summer. Ralph was a present member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Sebring, Florida and past member of Lutheran churches in Wooster and Wadsworth. He was active with the Alumni of Baldwin-Wallace and also invented a variety of innovative tools and household items. He enjoyed and excelled playing golf, bridge, and pool. Ralph greatly believed in education; he encouraged his children and grandchildren to pursue a higher level of education.
He will be deeply missed by his children Jane (Bill) Miller of Wadsworth, David (Bonnie) Rohrer of Canton, and Rev. Martha (Max) Fisher of Pickerington, 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and all the many lives he touched.
In addition to his wife, Inez who passed away on July 12, 1996; Ralph was preceded in death by his sister Esther.
