Ray Dean "Pop" Gindlesberger, 82, of Wooster, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. ?Services will be Friday at 11 am at the Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with the Rev. Matthew Phillips officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. ?

He was born October 17, 1923 in Millersburg to John E. and Mary P. {Pyres} Gindlesberger. ?He married Delores E. Border on September 7, 1946. She survives.
He served in the US Army in the 951st Field Artillery Battalion during WWII in the European Theatre. ?He was a carpenter and worked for the College of Wooster for 27 years, retiring in 1989. ?He was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church and a life member of the American Legion post 68. ?He enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Donna L. (Charles) Rex of Apple Creek,
Eddie D. (Sandy) Gindlesberger of Marshallville, Master Sergeant Thurl E. (Laura) Gindlesberger of Cabot, AK; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother Elmer Gindlesberger of Canal Fulton, sister Euna M Kellar of Massillon; and his little dog Sissy.
He is preceded in death by a son Gary R. Gindlesberger and brothers Frank E. and Thurl M. Gindlesberger.
