Robert "Bob" Atkinson, 42, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 24, 2006. ?Services will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff and Rev. Ray Saunders officiating. ?Friends may call Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. ?Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, PA. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to the Young Life of Steel Valley, 908 Ann St., Homestead, PA 15120.
He was born April 21, 1964 in Homestead, PA to Peter Burns Atkinson, Jr. and Grace Elaine (Dodge) Atkinson. ?He graduated from Steel Valley High School and from Rosedale Tech where he studied Auto Mechanics. ?He served in the U.S. Navy. ?He was employed at Long John Silver's. ?He attended Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed playing baseball, sailing, yard work, gardening, working on cars, and playing Scrabble.
Surviving are sisters Nancy Atkinson of Athens, Alabama, Joyce (Jeff) Thompson of Wooster, and Lynn Atkinson of Coral Springs, Florida; nieces Alyssa and Aimee Thompson and Andrea Palyok; nephews Christopher Thompson and Kevin Hamel; aunt Sandra (David) Skeehan of Gibsonia, PA; uncle Donald (Ruby) Dodge of Pittsburgh, PA; and numerous relatives and cousins in Pennsylvania.
His parents died previously.
