Robert E. Keefer, 83, of Rittman died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Magnolia Care in Wadsworth.
He was born August 31, 1925 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Harry and Irene (Wiengier) Keefer. He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War.
He married Alice Marie Shelton on June 6, 1953. She died in 2006
Robert worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation in Medina for 35 years, retiring in 1988. Following his retirement, he worked part time for Schneider Trucking. He was a member of the South Main Street Church Of God in Rittman. He enjoyed camping, traveling, working in his yard, and spending time with his dog Mocha.
He is survived by daughters Debbie (Bob) Miller of Rittman, Kim Keith of Orrville, Robyn Skraba of Seville; grandchildren Steven Miller and fiance` Shannon, Joshua (Jennifer) Miller, Christopher (Angela) Keith, Brandon Keith and girlfriend Brandi Crum, Ashley Keith, Benjamin McMillan, Raven & Hailey Skraba; great grandchildren Willow Annmarie Miller and Caden Crum; brothers James Edwards of Wadsworth, Richard (Roberta) Edwards of TN, Art (Barb) Keefer of Akron.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife and sister Virginia Foutty.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, 9560 Acme Rd, Wadsworth, with Pastor Jeff Ball officiating. Services will be Wednesday at 2pm at the funeral home.
