Robert Martin

Robert “Bob” E. Martin, 76, of Wooster, formerly of Ashland, died Monday, October 4, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.

Friends may call Thursday from 12 – 2 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel. Graveside services will be Thursday at 2pm at the Ashland County Memorial Park.

Bob was born August 19, 1934 in Craigsville, WV to William Newell and Ethel Gertrude (Matheny) Martin. He married Barbara Querry on July 8, 1961. She survives. Bob worked for GTE as an inspector for many years retiring in 1981

He was a member of the IBEW “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers”. He was a member of the Ashland Full Gospel Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a Little League baseball coach in Ashland.



In addition to his wife Barbara, Bob will be deeply missed by his children: Ricky (April) Martin of Olivesburg, Vickie (Scott) Sours of Wooster, Robert M. (Jennifer) Martin of Ashland; Grandchildren: Joshua (Charmin) Schoonover, Clayton (Stacy) Martin, Mark Schoonover, Crystal (Jamie) Garett, Jennie Cameron, Danielle (Alex) Baker, Benjamin A., Ashley, Logan and Zack Martin; Great-grandchildren: Kirk, Jordiyn, Kelsey, Kaleigh, Stephan, Gage, Christian, Carson, Chloe, Noah and Hannah Beck; Brothers: Kenneth (Jeanne) Martin of West Virginia, Don (Charlotte) Martin of Ashland; Sisters: Gladys Mullins, Ora Akers, Lola McHenry all of West Virginia; Sister-in-Law Pat Martin and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
