Robert D. Mote, Jr., 58, of Wadsworth, died Friday, December 15 at Akron General Medical Center. Services will be Wednesday at 1 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth. Mote was born April 4, 1948 in Phoenix, AZ to Robert D. Sr. and Norma Jeanine (Turk) Mote. ?He married Rosco Mae and they have been together for 31 years. Robert moved to Wooster as an infant and graduated from Wooster High School in 1966. He worked for the City of Wadsworth for over 30 years and was currently the superintendent of the water and wastewater treatment plant. He was involved in the expansion of the new wastewater treatment plant and a member of Water Environmental Federation (WEF) for nearly 40 years, serving as district chairman for the NEWEF in 1988-89. He was chairman of PWOD from 1992-94, a member of Ohio Water Association for over 30 years and a member of American Water Works Association for over 25 years. His article, "Cold Water Pitting; Is It Happening In Your City" was published in the Spring 2006 edition of the American water Association newsletter. Mote was a strong member of NRA, American Legion Post #170 and Eagles #2117 of Wadsworth.
In addition to his wife Rosco of Wadsworth, he is survived by his mother Norma of Loudonville, children Wesley Christopher, Jayson Wayne, Jerame Allen, Bobby Mote, grandchildren Alexis, Branden, Zachery, Alysha, Tori, sisters Lynette (Tim) Stone of Wooster, Nancy Swartz of Wooster, sister-in-law Trialee Berlin and family, closest friends the Berlin family of Wadsworth, Bob Ellis of Michigan, Ralph Copley of Wadsworth, Bill Hartley of Wadsworth and many more close friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Pearl Turk, Robert Vaughan and Rosella Mote, father Robert D. Mote, Sr. and son Billy Joe Fulkerson.
