Robert Robertson

Robert “Bob” Eugene Robertson, 84, of Olivesburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital.


Bob was born on March 31, 1927 in Mansfield to Major McKinley and Ruth Marie (Stover) Robertson.He served in the Merchant Marines and in the United States Navy during WWII.On July 8, 1950 he married Wanda Leedy, who survives. He worked as a meat cutter for Sternbaum’s Meat Market; he drove delivery truck for Independent Towel, retiring in 1983; he worked at Alta Greenhouse; and he worked at Hawkins Market for the past 16 years, where he was known as “Carryout Bob”. Bob was a faithful member of Ashland Christian Church, where he was an Elder and Deacon, and took care of the grounds.He enjoyed farming and gardening.His heart’s desire was spending time with his family, friends, and his walk with his Lord.




In addition to his wife, he will be deeply missed by; his children, Kathy (Jim) Powers of Shiloh, Vicky (Jim) Adams of Ashland, and Russ (Darla) Robertson of Cypress, TX; his grandchildren, Robert (Cassie) Powers, Scott (Toni) Powers, Mike (Mary) Adams, Mindy Adams, Jason and Mark Robertson; his great grandchildren, Kali Lewis, Zac, Jimmy, Darren, Alyssa, and Olivia Powers, Scottie Adams, Kaylynn and Joslynn West, and Katelin and Ethan Zane Robertson; his brothers, Jack (Dorothy) Robertson and Emmett (Jan) Robertson of Mansfield; his sisters, Norma (Walt) Neal Matthews of Mansfield, and Nira Scoles of Westerville.



Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Richard, Paul, Jim, Dean and Ted Robertson; sisters, Jane Kirk, Margaret Mayer, and Martha Baer.



Funeral Services will be at 2pm, Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Ashland Christian Church, 1480 Orange Road, Ashland, with the Senior Minister Scot R. Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.Friends may call Sunday at the church from 1pm to 2pm.
