Robert “Bob” M. Welker, 79, of Wooster died Friday, October 09, 2009 surrounded by his family. Family and friends may call Sunday from 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Orrville Christian Church and one hour prior to the 11:00A.M. service on Monday with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. Bob was bornMarch 2, 1930 in Canton, Ohio to H. Melvin and Ethel (Norris) Welker. He marriedJoAnn Kitzmiller June 7, 1951.
He loved attending his grand and great-grandchildren’s activities, and enjoyed woodworking, farming and Sunday School activities.He was an Elder at Orrville Christian Church and was a member of the Smithville Historical Society and the Sponseller Grange.He was a retired teacher from the Wayne County Schools Career Center and a small-business owner and financial advisor.Bob served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife JoAnn, Bob will be deeply missed by his children Debbie Pittard,
Robbin (Marty) Christman and Rodd (Martha) Welker, grandchildren Matthew (Deanna), Rachel and Rebecca Pittard; Ryan Christman and Mariah (Ryan) Leifheit; Tyler (Kristi),Chad and Westin Welker, great-grandchildren Shane and Gillian; sister Nancy Ann Houser; brother-in-law Robert A. Williams
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eileen Williams and grandson Macy Christman.
