Roger E. Krites, age 75, died Thursday evening, January 26, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
Roger was born in Wooster to the late Theadore Anson Krites and Goldie Christina (Snoddy) Krites.
After graduation from Wooster High School in 1954, Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent 21 years in Air Weather Service; he was particularly proud of his 23 typhoon penetrations with the 54
th
Weather Recon. Sq. out of Guam and his service in Vietnam and several other parts of the world.
Roger was a past president of Wooster Evening Lions Club; a member of the Wooster Elks Club; and a member of the Air Force Sergeants’ Association.
He was the owner/operator of Far East Audio in downtown Wooster for many years.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Robina, of 51 years, his son, Daniel (Lesa) Krites, Wooster; daughter Helen Krites Barber, Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren: Sergeant Ryne (Briana) Krites of Ft. Knox, KY; C. J. Krites; Logan Krites; Brandt Barber; and Benjamin Barber.
Also, sisters Kay (Ron) Wagner, Wooster; Betty (Wayne) Davidhizar, Wooster; and half sister, Lori (Fred) Peppard, Dalton.
He was preceded in death by parents and son-in-law, Brad Alan Barber.
