Ron White, 65, of Smithville died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. Friends may call Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster. Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating. The burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Ron was born Feburary 26,1945, in Dry Fork, West Virginia to John C. and Bertha G. White.
He married Diana L. Vance on September 7, 1969.
Ron served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He belonged to the 196
th
Light Infantry Brigade. Ron worked for Volvo GM for 28 years retiring in 1997. He worked for Crown Steel in Wooster for 3 years, and has been a member of West Hill Baptist Chruch for 33 years. He enjoyed classic cars and loved to hunt. Ron was Mr. Fix-it and enjoyed spending time with his West Virginia and Army buddies. He enjoyed going to “his little buddy`s” baseball and soccer games, and spending time with his family. Ron was also a member of the Wooster American Legion.
Ron will be deeply missed by his wife Diana of 41 years, his daughter Julie and son-in-law Matthew Wetz of Big Prairie, grandson Cannan Lee Wetz, brothers Howard Kisamore of North Carolina Johnnie (Velda) White of Virginia, Ernest White, Jerry (Sharon) White both of West Virginia, sisters Doris Morral, Jean (Ed) White, Donna (Bill) Vandevender, and Kay Daniels all of West Virginia. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Troy C. White.
