Ronald "Ron" Wood 60, of Wooster, passed away due to a sudden illness Thursday November 30, 2006 at Akron General Medical Center in Akron. ?Services will be Monday at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Elder Les Long of the Community of Christ Church, Mansfield officiating. ??Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

He was born May 2, 1946 in Lodi to H. Dean and Faye B. (Miller) Wood. ?He is survived by Connie (Fissell) whom he married March 17, 1968.

He graduated from Black River High School in 1964 and attended Kent State University. ??He was a special deputy for Medina County Sheriff's Department during the 1960's into early 1970's. ??He served in the U.S. Army in air traffic control during the Vietnam era. ?He previously was a teacher at Wayne County Joint Vocational School, owned a landscaping business, owned several gas stations, sold cars and owned his own auto dealership. ?Ron presently operated Memory Lane Farm Classic Auto Sales. ??He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed home remodeling, NASCAR races, music, playing his guitar and restoring classic antique cars.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children Jesse Dean Wood of Wooster and Ronna Suzanne Wood of the home, brothers Edwin Wood of Grayson, Kentucky and Larry D. (Sonja) Wood of Lodi, sisters Dorene (James) Underwood and Doretta George both of Wooster and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Betty J. Hall, brother-in-law Richard George and a niece Becky Land.
