Roy R. Myers, age 83, of Wooster, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at his residence. ?Services will be Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Nigel Gurney officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Friends may call Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com
He was born July 18, 1922 in Apple Creek to John S. and Helen I. (Porter) Myers. ?He married Evelyn Reese in 1947 and then married Virginia Ferrell Murphy on April 9, 1981. ?She survives. ?He served in the U.S. Naval Air Force during WWII. ?He retired from Bell & Howell Microphoto after many years of service. ?He was a member of the American Legion Post 68, Wooster. ?He enjoyed woodworking, leather, gardening, and spending time in nature.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: ?Gary (Susan) of Wooster, Dennis (Sherlyn) of Wooster, Richard of Wooster, Kathy Bucklew ?of Wooster, Jennie (Mike) Raymond of Apple Creek, Harold (Vicki) of Fredericksburg, Roy (Rebekah) of Wooster, ?Lorie Paratto of Madison, Wendy (James) Yungen of Orrville, Stephen (Jennifer) Murphy of Shreve, and Nathan (Cheryl) Murphy ?of Wooster; 25 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters Viola McRae of Barberton and Naomi Lance of Wooster; and several nieces and nephews.
Two grandsons, seven brothers and one sister died previously.
