Roy L. "Jake" Perkins, 83, of Orrville, died ?Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Brenn-field Nursing Center in Orrville. ?Friends may call Sunday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. ?Services will be Monday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Jake was born April 1, 1925 in Burton City to Mose and Anna (Lorson) Perkins. ?He served in the U. S. Army during WWII and the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart Medal.
He married Josephine J. Dellafave on August 13, 1955 in Indiana. ?He worked for Koppers for many years retiring in 1985. ?He was a life member of the Orrville American Legion Post 282 and VFW Post 3446. ?He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing cards at Golden Friends.
Jake will be deeply missed by his daughter Patricia Perkins of Orrville, granddaughter Paige Perkins and sister Rita Tomassetti of Orrville.
Jake was preceded in death by his wife, brothers Robert, Raymond, Richard and Ross Perkins, sisters Ruth Harding and Rachel Kirkbride.
