Ruby Hackenberg, 75, of Wadsworth, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. ?Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Jim Singleton officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may

She was born January 10, 1931 in Wadsworth to Ray and Mary (Lepley) Oplinger. ?She married Robert Hackenberg on December 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1992. She attended Wadsworth High School and retired from Wadsworth City Schools after 19 years of service. Ruby was an active member of the First Christian Church, enjoyed playing euchre and doing yard work. She was a Cleveland Indians fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by son Jeff Hackenberg of Wadsworth, daughters Rae Jean (Randy) Hall of Rittman, and Robin (Bill) Hathaway of Rittman, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and sister Lois McDermott and friend Nick of Wadsworth.
Her parents, husband Robert, son David Hackenberg, brother Dale Oplinger, sister Marcella Barton and sister Lucille Kasserman preceded her in death.
