Stanley "Stan" G. Edwards, 82, of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his residence.
Stanley was born July 4, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to James and Effie Jane (Phelps) Edwards. Stan served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. He was a graduate of Kent State University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a Manager of Quality Control retiring after 43 years of service. He was a member of Adoniram-Joppa Masonic Lodge of Akron. He enjoyed playing golf.
He will be deeply missed by his son Mark (Kim) Edwards of Memphis, Tennessee and
grandson Kyle Blake Edwards of Memphis, TN, loving caregiver Jennifer Blevens, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by long time companion Lola S. Webb, Sister Billie Jean, and brother Richard Edward.
There will be no services. Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Pallative Care of Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH44691.
