Sylvia Giauque, 82, of Marion, formerly of Wooster, died Friday, February 17, 2006 at Sunbridge Nursing Care, Marion. ?Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, 7067 Cleveland Rd., Wooster, with Rev. Charles Reed officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. ?Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. ?Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 111 S. She was born October 20, 1923, in Warsaw, to Ray and Francis (Matheny) Singer. ?She married George Giauque on October 25, 1947. ?He survives.
She worked for the J.J. Newberry Company for 19 ? years and then for Brown Jeweler for eight years, retiring in 1986.
Sylvia was a former member of West Hill Baptist Church and worked in the toddler Sunday School for several years. ?She was currently a member of Berean Baptist Church in Marion. ?She enjoyed reading and crafts.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Sharon (Charles) Russell and Carol Jean (David) Lewis, all of Marion; three grandchildren; and sister Goldie (Carmi) Alderman of Tavares, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Rutter.
