Thomas M. Szabo, 82, of Wooster died Wednesday May 25, 2011 in Wooster. A gathering will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 9560 Acme Road, Seville, Ohio at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday. Inurnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at

Thomas was born August 7, 1928 to John and Mary {Papp} Szabo. Beginning September 28, 1946 he served in the Korean and Vietnam War and retired from the marines as a Chief Warrant Officer. On March 28, 1979 he married Arletta Mae Moore. He retired from Nabisco in 1986. He enjoyed golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing Sudoku.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his children Thomas Szabo Jr. of Lodi, Kathy Rowland of West Salem, and Larry Szabo of Wooster, Step-children Connie Watson of Seville, Sandra Craig of Cleveland Heights, Janet Jenkins of Seville, and Lorie Toolis of Fairview Park, Grandchildren Chad Rowland, Andrea Murray, Kristen, Rhea, and Chris Szabo, Mandy and Jeffery Watson, Brigette and Sonia Bahniuk, Alex and Kierstin Jenkins, Amanda and Hannah Toolis, great-grandchildren Rylon McDowell, Zyon Toe, Charissa Justin, and Cory Murray, Bryce and Cael Rowland, Zoe Ziebros, and Chase Watson, and brother Bob Sabo.
Thomas was preceded in death by his step-son Marvin, and brothers John Sabo and Julius Szabo.
