Twila M. Carson, 84, of Wooster, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.Services will be Thursday at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Twila was born May 12, 1927 in Wooster, Ohio to Adam and Ada {Burkholder} Horner.
She graduated from Smithville High School.She married Edward Carson on December 5, 1959; he died in 1981.
Twila worked for the former William Annat Company, Wal-Mart, and JC Penny, retiring in 2006.She was a member of West Hill Baptist Church where she was involved in a small group. She enjoyed collecting swans, knitting, and playing the organ.
Twila will be deeply missed by her children Melody Swisshelm Niel of Tampa, FL, Joseph (Debbie) Swisshelm of Cleveland, Edward Q. Carson Jr. of Wooster, step children Dennis (Bonnie) Carson of Wooster, Tami (Tim) Galliher and Debbie Michel all of Shreve; grandchildren Tim Swisshelm, Alejandro, Isaiah, Micah, Emily, and Grace Niel; several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Russell (Thelma) Horner of Rittman, and sister-in-law Mary Horner of Orrville, nieces and nephews.
Twila was preceded in death by her husband Edward; son Timothy Swisshelm; sister Ruth Hofstetter; and brother Lester Horner.
