Vernon W. Jennings, 90, of Orrville died Monday, January 21, 2008, at his residence. ?Friends may call Thursday, January 24, 2008, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. ?Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2008, at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Vernon was born August 11, 1917, in Madisonburg to John C. and Daisy Mae (Johnson) Jennings. ?He married E. Arlene Murray on July 12, 1941. ?She passed away in June 2001.
He was a tool and die maker for Ohio Brass in Barberton retiring after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Orrville Christian Church where he was a Deacon for many years. ?He belonged to Cedar #430 Masonic Lodge, was a member of the Barberton Chapter, Council and Commandry and also a member of Orrville Chapter 208 of the Eastern Star. ?He enjoyed gardening, traveling and his family.
Vernon will be deeply missed by his children Cynthia (Galen) Alpeter of North Canton and Laurence (Nancy) Jennings of Wadsworth, grandchildren Trevor (Nicole) Alpeter,Troy Alpeter, Angela (Larry) Mills and Megan (Jay) Sprouse, great-grandsons Jaxon Sprouse, Max Mills and Thadeus Alpeter, step-grandchildren Charles (Jackie) Gibson, Cindy (Pete) Laikos and Steve (Kelly) Gibson, step-great-grandchildren Courtney, Emiley, Hannah and Abbie Gibson, Alex and Alyssa Laikos, a special friend Ruth Walters, and his cat Lady.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.
