Viola Wald

September 28, 1921 — May 21, 2010

Viola I. Wald, 88, of Dalton died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with the Reverend Matthew Wald officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691


Viola was born September 28, 1921, in Chippewato Paul and Ethel (Chapman) Mohler and married Ralph W. Wald on December 23, 1939. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1979.


She was a homemaker and was employed by the Dalton Local Schools, Dunlap Hospital and Clarke Ceramics and attended St. Agnes church in Orrville. She lived all of her life in Wayne County. For many years she was involved with the Wayne County Mothers of Twins Club.


Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law; Pauline (Ken) Neel of Doylestown, Joy (Dennis) Lively, Bonnie (Robert) Good all of Dalton, Joann (Philip) Gerber of Apple Creek, and Terri Wald (husband Jeff Moran) of Burbank, son and daughter-in-law Larry (Karen) Wald of Dalton, daughter-in-law Marcella (Robert) Meese of Wilmot; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Fawcett of Rittman and Letha Weizenecker of Sebring.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Leonard R. Wald in 1984, a stillborn grandson, two sisters and three brothers.
