Walter Bobo

February 28, 1925 — April 18, 2006

??Walter Wendle Bobo, 81, of rural Ashland, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at his residence.

Born Feb. 28, 1925, in Trimble, Ohio, he was the son of Dillard and Myrtle Nunley Bobo.

Mr. Bobo was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II.

He was a tinsmith at General Motors in Ontario, retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service.

He attended Macomber Vocational School in Toledo. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Savannah.

Mr. Bobo was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 549 Retiree Chapter, where he and his wife coordinated the Rocking Chair Love Program, distributing rocking chairs to hospitals throughout Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, Martha, to whom he was married July 7, 1951; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Warren L. and Judy Bobo of Florida and David W. Bobo and special friend Sherrie Hartz of Ashland; one daughter, Linda Fasen and her fianc? Leonard Bohanan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one brother Raymond Bobo of Malvern.

His parents and one brother, Jerry Bobo, preceded him in death.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, with the Rev. Randy Cetorelli officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by Active Duty.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the funeral home.
