Walter A. Calame Sr., 78, of Wooster went home to be with the Lord on Friday June 18, 2010 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.

Walter was born March 16, 1932 in Sullivan, Ohio to Arnold and Blanche {Gish} Calame.
He served in the Navy from 1955-1957. Walter married Louise DiVito on November 5, 1955.
She survives.
Walter worked on the farm for many years and was also a self-employed carpenter. He attended Christian Brethren Church in Creston. He taught his sons carpentry and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Walter will be deeply missed by his children Walter Calame Jr. of Wooster, Jeff Calame of Delaware, Audrey (Steve) Workman of Ashland, Keith Calame of Shreve, Kevin (Lisa) Calame of Wooster, David (Betsy) Calame of Wooster, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
