William Roy Brown Sr, 95, of Wooster, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster. ?
Services will be held Monday at 10 am at the Bauknecht - Altmeyer Funeral Home in Powhatan Point, Ohio. ?Burial will be at Powhatan Point Cemetery. ?Friends may call Sunday from 2 ? 4 pm at Bauknecht - Altmeyer Funeral Home. ?

He was born September 11, 1910 in Powhatan Point, Ohio to Isaac and Cora {Chance} Brown. ?His wife Elizabeth died in 1963. ?He worked for North American Coal Corp. Mine #1 for many years. He then worked for Captina Coal Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1972. ?He was a member of the UMWA District 6 Local 5497.
Survivors include son Roy (Donna) Brown Jr. of Wooster; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; and a sister Betty Elkins of St. Petersburg, FL.
In addition to his wife, brothers Lewis, Aaron, Isaac Jr., and Russell Brown precede him in death. ?
