William "Bill" Higdon, 53, of Wooster died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at his residence after a hard-fought battle with cancer. ??Services will be Wednesday at 11am at the Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. ?Burial will be at Prairie Township Cemetery in Holmesville. ?Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. ?Online tributes may be left at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. He was born December 13, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to Paul and Barbara {Fowler} Higdon. ?He married Barbara Welton-Kelley on October 19, 1990. She survives.
He moved to Wooster in 1978 and enjoyed racing his stock car and go-karts; as well as coaching girls fast-pitch softball. ?He also bowled and played softball for many years. ?He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children William Higdon II of Wooster, Jerry (Tiffany) Rouse of Millersburg, Tommy (Adrienne) Rouse of Wooster, Greg (Missi) Kelley of Barberton, Tarah Kelley of Wooster; 12 grandchildren; his parents of Treasure Island, FL; brother Alan (Jill) Higdon of East Lansing, MI; sisters Paula Baker and Sherry (Gale) Hizer all of Indianapolis, IN; numerous nieces and nephews.
