William David Shirley, Sr., 85, of Cuyahoga Falls died Saturday November 17, 2007 at Summa Health System Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. ?Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home, Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth with Pastor Charles Witlock officiating. ?Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Wadsworth. Bill was born July 30, 1922 in Rodfield, West Virginia to Frank Shirley and mother's name not known at this time. ?He married Gladys Leona Warner on July 13, 1944. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2004. ?He was employed at Convalve for over 25 years, retiring in 1982. ?He attended the Baptist Church. ?He was a member of Wadsworth Eagles Club and Airstream Club. ?Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and camping.
Bill is survived by one son, William D. Shirley, Jr. of Portage Lakes, one daughter and son-in-law Kaylynn and Ezra Chupp of Cuyahoga Falls, grandchildren Nicole Martin, Michelle Brock, Bart Shirley, Jack Davenport, Jr. and Kelly Davenport, and great-grand children Alyssa and Danny ?Brock, Lexie and Brendan Shirley, Drew and Christopher Martin, and Ariel and Julia Davenport, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and 2 brothers.
