William "Bill" R. Shy, 82 of Shreve died Sunday March 30, 2008 at his residence in Shreve. ?Services will be Thursday April 3, 2008 at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. Christopher Stewart officiating. ?Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. ?Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery where military rites will be held.

Bill was born December 23, 1925 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Walter and Dorothy (Nutter) Shy. ?He served three years in the U. S. Navy during WWII. ?He retired from Columbia Gas as a welder after 34 years of service.
He married Lorna Jean Croskey July 6, 1946. ?She survives.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Garfield #528 and was known for his love of nature and interest in Native American culture. ?Bill was a quiet, artistic man who had the ability to see the beauty in simple things, as the maker of outstanding walking sticks and the teller of good jokes. ?
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife Lorna ?and a son Roger (Virginia) Shy of Shreve, daughters Cheryl (Bob) Fleming of Big Prairie and Penny (Larry) Burkey of Shreve, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a sister Betty Biagetti of Barberton.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, a son Terry Shy and a grandson Billy Burkey.
