Winifred E. Frink, age 91, a former long time resident of Mount Clemens, Michigan currently of Lodi, Ohio, passed away on November 11, 2011.
She was born December 13, 1919 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, to the late Walter and Ethel (nee Coulon) Duckwitz. The Duckwitz Farm where she was born would later become the location of the Mount Clemens Rose Gardens.
On February 21, 1942 in Mount Clemens, she was united in marriage to John S. Frink. They were four days shy of celebrating their 61
st
Wedding Anniversary, when Mr.Frink passed away on February 17, 2003.
Mrs. Frink was employed as a bookkeeper for Kurz Alt Heidelburg a well known German style restaurant and later as a bookkeeper for Partridge Creek. Earlier in her career she had been employed for Macomb County Controllers office.
She was a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ in Mount Clemens, held the office of treasurer for the Mount Clemens Art Association, was a member of the Macomb County Historical Society and the Mount Clemens Art Center now known as the Anton Art Center. Among her many interests, she enjoyed playing golf and was a 30 year member of Burning Tree Golf Club, enjoyed bowling and playing Bridge.
She is survived by two daughters, Michele Frink of Lodi, Ohio, Melinda (James) Kabel of Des Moines, Iowa, six grandchildren, Alexis, Brian, Gabriella, Sandor, Larassa and Sonya, eight great grandchildren, Breya, Alexander, Mia, Daniel, Tommy, Andrew, Emmet, and Sydney. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Elizabeth Alder, Rosemary Eastman and Walter Duckwitz.
Memorial services will be held at Zion United Church of Christ, 68 New Street, Mount Clemens with the Rev. Scott Davis officiating at a date to be determined.
Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery East, Clinton Township, Michigan.
